In Memoriam: Klaas Hofstra
Actor Klaas Hofstra, best known to the general public for his leading role in the hit series Medisch Centrum West, has died at the age of 79. In Pattaya's Jomtien hamlet, Klaas was very well known among Dutch expats. He gave his best solo performances at Ben's Theater in Pattaya and at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok where he is in English played the inimitably beautiful “A Letter from Van Gogh”. With pianist Regina Albrink he took on the role of Chopin, Liszt and Beethoven in successive years. Klaas was not only a good actor, he was also a sweet man and friend to many here in Thailand.
