Kanchanaburi commemoration August 15, register now!!
|
|
|
|
On August 15 there is again the annual commemoration of those who died during WWII under the Japanese occupation during the construction of the railway line between Thailand and Burma.
The program is as follows:

07:45 Meet at the entrance of the embassy on Soi Ton Son (only for people using transport organized by NTCC)
|
08:00 Departure towards Kanchanaburi (only for people using transport organized by NTCC)
|
10:30 Meet at the cafe of the Thailand-Burma Railway Center for coffee & tea
|
11:15 Silent journey to the Don Rak cemetery
|
- Wreath laying
- Last Post
- 2 minutes of silence
- The Wilhelmus
12:00 End of the ceremony
|
- Optional tour to Chungkai Cemetery; no ceremony there, but a wreath laying by the Dutch ambassador to conclude the ceremony
12:30 Lunch provided by the Dutch embassy
|
2:30 PM Departure back to Bangkok (only for people using transportation organized by NTCC)
|

Zeezicht stops for a moment
|
|
|
|
Zeezicht every three weeks has been a tradition 83 times since October 2018, including short interruptions due to Covid 19. As of today, we will be introducing a seasonal stop due to many foreign regular participants. From October 8, 2024 we will visit Zeezicht again. Have a nice holiday.
