N/A King's Day on April 26; Last chance !!

Due to a technical malfunction, we are sending this newsletter again. Apologies if you had already received this.
This year's Dutch King's Day party will be organized at the famous Siam Society, near the ASOK BTS station. Both indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor locations are used.

It promises to be another great swinging party with:
Top dance music from Dutch and Thai musicians.
Top DJs
-Heineken beer and wine THB 100
-Water and soft drinks free

Food (included in the ticket price) is served by 4 different Food Trucks parked in the parking lot in front of the venue. They serve Vietnamese BanhMee, Siam Chicken Fried Noodles, Baby Pizza and Coconut Ice Cream. Dutch snacks also available!


Ticket prices:
Members who joined NVT Bangkok before March 1, 2023: THB 500
Members who joined after that date and other NVT members: THB 700
Non-members: THB 1200

NB: Registration in advance is required and is possible until April 24, 2024 at 6:00 PM

Free market at the embassy April 27; Last chance!!

The traditional Free Market in the embassy garden is an annual tradition and a must for every (expat) family with children. Various games and treats from pancakes to typical Dutch snacks and this year the children can actively participate in preparing or decorating some products. Painting elephants (not live ones!), a trail with electric scooters and much more! And of course you can bring a rug to sell all your surplus toys, books, etc.

NVT in conversation with, this time with Dorus van der Kooij of AA insurance. What is involved in health insurance if you live outside the Netherlands and what to do if you need to use it? It is a subject that raises many questions and to which Dorus is happy to answer. The embassy is again sponsoring the snacks and drinks before and after the presentation. Admission is free but advance registration is required!

Sea view goes impressionistic

Tuesday April 23 we visit the exhibition in the MOCA Bangkok
“Traces of Emotions” featuring the works of Ekachai Luadsoongnern. This is an impressionist painter with more than 30 years of experience. Ekachai's solo exhibition includes four series of paintings.

May 4 commemoration at the embassy

On the morning of May 4, the annual commemoration will take place again at the residence.
The program is as follows:
10.00: arrival of schoolchildren, teachers and parents
10.15: start lesson
11.00: arrival of guests, coffee, tea and apple pie
11.30: walk to the flagpoles for the ceremony
11.35: speech by Ambassador Remco van Wijngaarden
11.40: poem read by children
11.45 - 11.55: wreath laying ceremony
