NVT in collaboration with the Siam Society: unique concert by the Holborne Consort

There are no more places available for the concert on Tuesday, February 13 at the embassy, but the same concert will also be held at the Siam Society on Valentine's Day.
Reserve your tickets quickly!
About the program:
In our program 'The Bassanos in London' we tell the exciting story of 5 brothers from the Venetian Bassano family, who were called to London by King Henry VIII to build and play wind instruments at his court. The name Bassano was a household name throughout Europe in the 16th and early 17th centuries, almost a kind of brand name. Bassano wind instruments were played throughout Europe and even appeared in South America through Spanish and Portuguese expeditions! The program naturally includes English music by Henry VIII himself, the Holborne brothers, Morley and Farnaby, but also Italian music that the Bassanos may have brought with them to London, such as music by Ruffo, Festa and De Rore. This combination of the two different national styles and the story of the Bassano brothers forms a fascinating whole and a moving concert experience for the audience.
