On Friday, August 15 The Dutch Embassy in Thailand will soon organize a commemoration service in Kanchanaburi to commemorate the end of World War II in Asia and the victims of the war with Japan and the Japanese occupation. The Embassy invites you to gather at the Don Rak War Cemetery for this commemoration. Below and attached to this message is a full program of the commemoration and a registration form.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 11:00:00 – Reception at the Thailand-Burma Railway Center (73 Chao Khun Nen Rd, Ban Nuea, Mueang Kanchanaburi District, Kanchanaburi 71000, Thailand) 12:00 PM – Silent walk to the Don Rak cemetery 12:00 PM - Start of memorial service Commemorative speech by the Dutch Ambassador Recitation of poems Wreath laying Taptoe signal 2 minutes of silence The Wilhelmus 12:00 PM – End of the ceremony, departure to Chungkai War Cemetery 12:00 – Lunch organized by the Dutch Embassy at Keeree Tara Riverside 12:00 PM – Departure to Bangkok 12:00 PM - Expected time of arrival at the Dutch Embassy (NTCC transport) Registration for the memorial service is possible until July 28, 2025.

The Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC) offers transportation from the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok (15 Soi Ton Son, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand) to Kanchanaburi. Details about the departure time will follow. You will also be returned to the embassy afterward. |
